Cold Springs Campground is on the Clear Creek Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests, beside Highway 119 at 9,200 feet; the Forest Service puts it five miles north of Black Hawk in one place and five miles north of Central City in another. It has 38 sites, 31 of them suitable for RVs, each with a tent pad, fire grate and picnic table, plus vault toilets, potable water and a playground. There are no electric, water or sewer hookups. A single site is $27 a night for up to eight people, booked through Recreation.gov.
Everything here is from the Forest Service’s campground page, read 10 October 2026, when it carried a “Site Closed” banner and gave no opening or closing dates. The supervisor’s office number on that page is 970-295-6600.
