Free Park Entry for Veterans and Active Military

On Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2026, veterans, active-duty military and National Guard members get into every Colorado state park free, Golden Gate Canyon included; the park’s own page lists the day from 8 am to 10 pm. Bring a DD214, a DD Form 2 or 2765, a military ID card, a Colorado driver’s license or ID marked “Veteran”, or a VA medical card. Camping, fishing and other fees still apply.

CPW’s event page says both “Registration is required” and “No registration required”; call the park at 303-582-3707 if it matters to you.
