Gilpin County Public Library
The county's public library on Highway 119, with a community room that hosts a free weekly meditation circle and an October pumpkin decorating contest. Closed on county holidays.
The Gilpin County Public Library is on Highway 119 north of the casinos, at 15131 Hwy 119. Its site lists an address and phone but, on the pages read for this guide, no opening hours, so call before you drive.
The library’s 2026 holiday schedule closes it on Indigenous Peoples’ Day (Monday, October 12), Veterans Day (Wednesday, November 11), Thanksgiving and the day after (November 26 and 27), Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Its programs page names a Pumpkin Decorating Contest in October, a Cultural Pass, and a Mountain Meditation Circle on Monday evenings in the community room.
Address, phone and the closure dates are from the library’s holiday schedule page, read 10 October 2026; the programs are from its home page and the two program pages, read the same day.
